What you receive, and what is asked of you

You receive one page. It states the question, the number who answered, what they said, the reasons grouped into themes, the sources they were shown, and the method. It arrives before you decide, not after.

What it does for you

You can decide about your community knowing your community: what it needs, from the public record, and what it thinks, from people who gave their reasons. A published result is a mandate you can point to. Represent it and the record shows you did. Decide against it and the record shows why, in your words. Either way, the people who took part know they were heard, and that is what brings them back to vote.

Having a better life is what most people vote for: more money in the household, better health, better prospects, safer streets, services that work. A working group tells you which of those your place puts first, and why, before you decide.

What is asked of you

One response, by a stated date, in your own words. It is published beside the result. If you do not respond, the page says so, without comment.

What you are not asked

You are not asked to agree, to pay, to endorse, to attend, or to share data. You are not asked to give anything to any party or platform. The page is independent of you and of us.

If you want a question asked

A council, an MP’s office or a campaign can propose a question for a place like anyone else, and is named on the page as the proposer. The question is still tested and fixed by the method, and the result is published whichever way it falls.
